Grilled Hot Ham and Cheese Sliders: An Easy Campground Favorite

There’s nothing better than a warm, cheesy meal after a day of hiking, swimming, fishing, or exploring the campground. These Grilled Hot Ham and Cheese Sliders are simple to make, packed with flavor, and perfect for feeding the whole family. Cook them right on your grill in a foil pan, and you’ll have a delicious meal with minimal cleanup.

Whether you’re camping for the weekend or enjoying a longer getaway, this recipe is sure to become a campsite favorite.

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian slider rolls
  • 12 slices deli ham
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese, halved (or 12 thin slices)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon or yellow mustard (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Directions

1. Prepare the Sliders

Without separating the rolls, slice the entire pack in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in a disposable foil pan or on a sheet of heavy-duty foil.

Spread mustard on the rolls if desired. Layer the ham evenly over the bread, followed by the Swiss cheese. Place the top half of the rolls back on.

2. Make the Butter Topping

In a small bowl, mix together:

  • Melted butter
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Poppy seeds
  • Parsley

Brush or pour the mixture evenly over the tops of the sliders.

3. Grill

Cover the pan tightly with foil.

Place on a grill over medium heat (about 350°F) for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the sliders are heated through.

Remove the foil for the last 2–3 minutes if you’d like the tops slightly toasted.

4. Serve

Slice into individual sliders and enjoy while they’re warm!

Tips for Campground Cooking

  • Prepare the sliders at home and keep them refrigerated in a cooler until you’re ready to grill.
  • Add turkey, roast beef, or pepperoni for a fun variation.
  • Swap Swiss for cheddar, provolone, or pepper jack.
  • Pair with chips, pasta salad, fruit, or baked beans for an easy camping meal.
  • Wrap leftover sliders individually in foil and reheat over the campfire or grill the next day.

Why They’re Perfect for Camping

These sliders are quick, filling, and easy to customize for everyone’s tastes. Since they’re cooked in one pan, cleanup is a breeze, leaving you with more time to enjoy campfires, games, and making memories with family and friends.

The next time you’re planning your campground menu at Camp Lakewood Campground, add these Grilled Hot Ham and Cheese Sliders to the list. They’re guaranteed to disappear fast!
